Étienne reaches students through contemporary sounds such as rap, reggae, hip-hop and rock. A manual is provided with lesson suggestions, worksheets, games and activities to reinforce each songs objectives. The nine songs include

• "Être" - a rock anthem that includes conjugation, spelling and sentences, as well as adjectives
• "Sautezi" - a reggae song that emphasizes"-er" verbs and introduces/reinforces the imperative form
• "Au Carnaval" - a blues-type song that tells the story of what transpires during Carnaval
